I know I regret the fact I did not sit down with my granddad who was in WW I as a trooper. It was like reading a mystery novel as one follows your interviews. Your recollections of your dad reminded me of my dad. And I think most readers will have dads from the same era as yours. Their time, as I said before, is either of a first or second European generation. And they all reflect the non spoken love they had for us. Yet their love was shown in other ways-like a deep desire to protect us. A mention by your dad that he knew he was having a breakdown was quite interesting.
